A woman kicked a Kentucky sheriff's deputy in the chest and tried to knock out a cruiser's passenger window when she was taken into custody after shooting at her boyfriend over the weekend.
Alexis Beaver is accused of firing multiple shots at Edwin Romero, her boyfriend, near the Dollar General Store in Verona on Sunday, WCPO-TV reports. The couple, however, left the scene together after the shooting.
Boone County sheriff's deputies localed the two traveling on Interstate 71 and pulled them over. During the stop, Beaver is seen in body camera footage kicking a deputy in the chest.
Deputies struggled with Beaver and were able to subdue and get her inside a cruiser. Beaver then began kicking the passenger window, damaging the unit's door frame.
During the call, deputies found that Romero was a deported felon, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were contacted. A detainer hold was placed on Romero, who was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Beaver was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment, three counts of assault on a police officer and other charges. Bond was set at $100,000.
